On July 30, 2025, Ca Mau Airport held a ceremony to officially receive the entire land area for the project on land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport. The event was attended by representatives from Ca Mau Airport, the Ca Mau Provincial Land Development Center, and the People’s Committee of Tan Thanh Ward.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of various levels, sectors, and local authorities, the full 101.90 hectares of land were handed over on schedule, achieving 100% of the planned target. This marks a significant milestone, indicating that the project is now ready to enter the construction phase for key components.

Representatives of the units signed the land handover agreement

Immediately following the handover ceremony, the involved units will promptly begin construction of the new runway, followed by the passenger terminal and other synchronized auxiliary facilities. Once completed, Ca Mau Airport will become a strategic connection point in the aviation network of the Mekong Delta region and the country as a whole.

With great enthusiasm, determination, and unity from central to local levels, and from project owner to coordinating units, the expansion and upgrade project of Ca Mau Airport is expected to be completed soon, contributing to the region’s socio-economic development and national defense and security.

Upon completion, the terminal will have a capacity of 500,000 domestic passengers per year, expandable to 1 million passengers per year when needed

The project “Expansion and Upgrade of Ca Mau Airport” was approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 1188/QĐ-TTg dated October 15, 2024. Its goal is to invest in expanding and upgrading Ca Mau Airport to accommodate aircraft such as the A320, A321, and equivalents; thereby driving economic, cultural, and social development while ensuring national defense and security for Ca Mau Province and the region. Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has been assigned as the project owner, using its legal capital sources.
