On the afternoon of July 27, as part of his working program in Quang Tri province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the "Construction of Passenger Terminal T2 and Expansion of Aircraft Apron - Dong Hoi Airport" project and encouraged the officials, engineers, workers, and laborers on the construction site.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation inspected the construction progress of the project.
The "Construction of Passenger Terminal T2 and Expansion of Aircraft Apron - Dong Hoi Airport" project is a Group B project invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). It is being built on an area of 106,308 square meters, including the passenger terminal and auxiliary facilities, with a total investment of 1,750 billion VND from ACV's capital.
The project includes the following main components:
- Passenger Terminal T2: Deployed on a land area of nearly 12,000 square meters, it is a two-story building with a mezzanine level, featuring two separate levels for departures and arrivals.
- Internal road system and car park: Constructed on an area of over 74,000 square meters.
- Greenery and landscaping: Covering a total area of 6,549 square meters.
Passenger Terminal T2 at Dong Hoi Airport is designed with an operational capacity of 3 million domestic passengers per year (1,200 passengers during peak hours). There is a planned expansion option to increase capacity to 5 million passengers per year when needed (after 2030). This will create infrastructural synchronization upon operation, in line with the detailed master plan for Dong Hoi Airport to 2030 and the national master plan for the development of the airport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The Prime Minister presented gifts and encouraged the officials, engineers, workers, and laborers on the construction site.
After the on-site inspection and listening to reports, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of ACV. He also requested coordination with relevant units to continue accelerating the construction progress to ensure the project's schedule, quality, safety, and aesthetic appeal.
