Thai VietJet Air, headquartered in Thailand, is a member company of Vietnam's Vietjet Air. The airline carried out its first commercial passenger flight from Bangkok to Da Nang in November 2014. In 2020, the airline ranked second in terms of aviation market share in Thailand, just behind Thai AirAsia.

The aviation industry in 2022 has restarted after the COVID-19 pandemic, however the number of international visitors to Da Nang International Airport is still limited, reaching only 17.7% over the same period in 2019.

Welcoming the Lunar New Year of Rabbit 2023, Da Nang International Airport in particular and Vietnam's aviation industry in general expect that the international passenger market will recover to the equivalent volume before the pandemic.
