Airports of ACV welcomed close to 1.5 million passengers from April 28 to May 2, 2021, the peak travel period of National Reunification Day and May Day. The daily average traffic of domestic passengers during these holidays surged roundly 65% compared to that of March, 2021, with most airports seeing increases of 30-175% in passenger volume. Likening to the National Reunification Day and May Day holidays in 2019 (with the same 4 days of leave and not affected by Covid-19), the domestic passenger traffic increased by 29.9%.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport served an unprecedented record of passengers

It is worth noting that on April 29, the volume of domestic passengers passing through Tan Son Nhat international airport reached 108,451 passengers, the highest traffic ever (the previous highest date was January 29 last year, the fifth day of lunar new year at this time).
During this peak period of National Reunification Day and May Day, the aircraft movement volume reached close to 11,000 movements, increased by 45.34% compared to that movements on the holidays of the year 2019.
ACV has directed its busiest airports such as Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Da Nang, etc. to well manage the airport operation and take advantage of the Airport Operation Control Centre (AOCC), therefore, all flights were safely served without any incidents, congestions even though there were many crowded times at the arrival and departures terminals.

Airports drastically implement anti-epidemic measures against Covid-19.

With regard to the Covid-19 prevention and control mission, airports have closely worked with CDCs and relevant agencies to continuously control the situation as well as strictly follow the aviation health safety protocols, in particular, using surveillance camera system for a prompt contact tracing and rapidly providing information about infected Covid-19 passengers passing through the airports, then finding out close contacts and implementing quarantine in accordance with local CDCs’ guidance and regulations.
