On the morning of November 7, 2025, the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province held a working session with Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to discuss potential cooperation in promoting and developing tourism through air transport. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee. Representing ACV were Mr. Tran Anh Vu, Deputy General Director of ACV, and accompanying delegates, along with representatives from relevant provincial departments and agencies.

During the session, in an open and constructive spirit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions and reached an agreement to jointly implement several key areas of cooperation, including:
- Air Route Network Development:
Both parties will jointly formulate attractive incentive and stimulation policies to encourage airlines to open new domestic and international routes to Dong Hoi Airport, diversifying types of operations such as scheduled flights, charter flights, helicopter services, and private jet operations. - Tourism Promotion Cooperation:
ACV will support the promotion of Quang Tri’s tourism image across its infrastructure network and communication channels at 22 airports nationwide. The two sides will collaborate to develop a unified set of promotional materials to be used at trade fairs, international events, particularly Routes Development Forums and major provincial festivals. - Support for the Tourism Ecosystem:
Both parties will strengthen coordination and support for travel and tourism enterprises in connecting and developing integrated, high-quality tours, routes, and services. - Acceleration of Infrastructure Projects:
ACV and Quang Tri Province agreed to closely coordinate efforts to expedite the implementation of the Passenger Terminal T2 Project at Dong Hoi Airport, ensuring timely completion to meet future growth demands.
The strategic cooperation between ACV and Quang Tri Province is expected to create a significant breakthrough for the tourism and aviation sectors in the North Central region. This partnership marks an important step toward positioning air transport as an effective bridge contributing to the realization of Quang Tri’s vision of becoming a distinctive destination for peace and heritage in this new era of integration and development.
